MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

- This product is a Pharmacist Only Medicine and requires pharmacist advice before we can dispatch this product. You must first place the order and then contact our pharmacists within 48 hours on 1300 367 283.
The pharmacist will determine if this product is appropriate for you and if so, approve the order. In the event that you do not do this, the product will be deleted from your order and the balance of your order will be dispatched.
This is not required if you have a doctor's prescription.

Vitamin d and calcium
I have started taking these to help my vitamin d and calcium levels. Also to help my bones strength. I really like that these are easy to take being a big chewable tablet. They do have a lemon taste but they can also be a bit chalk like as they dissolve. They dissolve easily though. The calcium helps the vitamin d work more efficiently. Vitamin d is important for me as i really don't get enough sun and d, also wearing sunscreen every day. I always feel much better taking vitamin d and supplements with improved energy and less general aches and pains. Overall like these ones and they are easy to take. I take one every 2 days. The vitamin d is slightly lower in this but it's all I need at this stage and I find the higher doses leave me with nausea and these don't. Good choice and buy. Brand that I trust too.

Was recommended by my GP. There’s enough for 30 day as there’s 60 tablets for the two tablet daily dose. Easy to swallow. Very competitively price compared to other pharmacists.

Bone Health Duo: Calcium + Vitamin D3
I take Calcium & Vitamin D supplements on my doctor's orders. A strong family history of osteoporosis, plus being on thyroid medication, increases my risk of the disease. I began supplements in my forties. Now, in my fifties, I've been diagnosed with osteoporosis.
Ostelin Calcium & Vitamin D3 Chewable Tablets have a chalky citrus flavour, which sounds odd, & yet familiar: I remember lollies I had as a kid - were they bead necklace lollies? The lolly taste makes these tablets moreish, but I must stop at the recommended daily dosage!
I'm not brand faithful: depending on what's on sale, I alternate between Ostelin & Caltrate. Both brands contain 600mg of Calcium in the form of Calcium Carbonate.
MADE IN AUSTRALIA!
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Calcium (from Calcium Carbonate) 600mg,
Colecalciferol (Vitamin D3) 12.5µg (500IU).
DOES NOT CONTAIN: Lactose, artificial colours or dairy products. There is no mention of whether it's suitable for vegans.
