MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

- This product is a Pharmacist Only Medicine and requires pharmacist advice before we can dispatch this product. You must first place the order and then contact our pharmacists within 48 hours on 1300 367 283.
The pharmacist will determine if this product is appropriate for you and if so, approve the order. In the event that you do not do this, the product will be deleted from your order and the balance of your order will be dispatched.
This is not required if you have a doctor's prescription.

Propovir®
Propovir is a natural and clinically proven treatment that reduces healing time and pain associated with cold sores. Propovir effectively targets all stages of the
cold sore cycle, from the initial tingle or blister stage right through to healing. Its active ingredient propolis extract ACF® is extracted from propolis, a naturally occurring substance collected by honey bees from plant sources.
Propolis is more than just an antiviral, it contains antifungal, anti-inflammatory and
antibacterial properties.

Directions: At first sign of tingle or blister, apply propovir 5 times a day, until the attack disappears.
Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist see your healthcare professional.

I hate cold sores
When I have cold sores blowing up my lips and am wearing a mask so as not to show anyone; I will buy anything that claims it will help. I applied this stuff that seemed a bit like honey to my already huge inflamed blister like profusions on my face. I am not sure if it really assisted. I had already tried to put about 7 different things on over the previous 5 days so I can't say this was a pure clinical study. It took 3 weeks for my lips to go back to normal and at present I still have red scar tissue from when they were - this is week 4 not sure if I should try this stuff that long after. I will give it a go another time when they hit - (God forbid).

Best topical cold sore treatment. Stays in place & is much more discreet than the white coloured creams!

Changed my view on Cold Sores Forever
To start, I suffered from cold sores my whole life. I use the typical cold sore creams, lysine pills, salt, avoiding stressors; none of those things would ease my pain; I would still go through the disgusting oozing stage and the sore lasts like 2 weeks on my face. Not until I tried this product. It kept my sore moisturised, I would not feel the pain at all and the 2nd day of using it, the sore size reduced considerably, it skipped the oozing stage and it was healed in less than a week.
Now I see cold sores as a minor annoyance rather than a life ruining infection because I used to spend almost a month just recovering from the sore completely. I love this product and I hope it sticks around forever!
