WHAT IS KINESIOLOGY TAPE?
Kinesiology tape relieves pain and provides comfort and stability to your body. It is designed to re-educate the neuromuscular system and improve blood circulation for pain relief and protection. It can be used to help with anything from chronic pain to mild strains and performance enhancements.
Working like a second skin, Elastoplast's kinesiology tapes elastic properties facilitate your body's natural healing process and provide support and stability without restricting your body's range of motion. Its porous thin construction, makes the Elastoplast Kinesiology Tape suitable for sensitive skin types. It's composition of natural cotton and nylon makes it waterproof and effectively works to mimic your skins elasticity, while its medical grade adhesion ensures it can be worn for an extended period of time.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Kinesio tape works on a microscopic level in two key ways:

When applied correctly, the Kinesio tape creates a microscopic space between the skin and the tissue directly underneath it. This is created when the kinesiology tape recoils and gently lifts the skin, leading to a change in the pressure gradient within this space beneath the skin. This works to enhance the flow of blood as well as lymphatic fluid within the subcutaneous area. By limiting the build-up of lymphatic fluid and promoting circulation, the lymphatic system regulates swelling and helps to heal bruises faster.

Among other things, your somatosensory system is responsible for providing your brain with information about stimuli that are causing you pain or discomfort. Kinesio tape helps to alleviate (or mask) the pain associated with injury.
KINESIOLOGY TAPE IS USED TO:

TREAT INJURIES
- Mitigate pain, prevent cramps, regulate swelling and promote healing through correct and consistent application.

SUPPORT WEAK MUSCLES & JOINTS
- via rehabilitative taping techniques.

IMPROVE PHYSICAL MOBILITY
- during everyday life by reducing muscle fatigue.

ENHANCE PERFORMANCE
- The athlete's choice for increasing endurance and protecting themselves against injury.
APPLICATION AND REMOVAL TIPS
• Apply the tape at least 20 minutes before exercise for optimal effectiveness
• Clean and dry the area to remove excess oils, sweat or dirt, prior to application.
• Trim the ends of the tape to form rounded corners to avoid bunching or rolling of the tape from clothing. This will help to keep it in place for a longer period of time.
• Apply the first two inches of the tape without stretching it to anchor it in place. Then apply with medium to high stretch for the length of the tape. Finally, apply the last 2 inches of the tape without stretch to help anchor the other end. Refrain from stretching the ends of the tape as this may cause pulling and irritation on your skin.
• Gently rub the tape onto the applied area with your hand for several seconds to activate the adhesive mass.
• Store the tape in a cool, dry area to avoid direct sunlight or high temperatures.
• Remove the tape pealing the tape in direction of the hair and holding the skin down to avoid lifting.
