MULTIPLE PACKS
Dispensing multiple packs or multiple repeats of prescription medication
- As pharmacists we must always comply explicitly with your doctors prescribed directions this includes the quantity of the prescription goods to be supplied. Therefore the only time we can supply an increased quantity of a prescribed medicine is if the doctor prescribes that quantity for you.
AUTHORITY PRESCRIPTION
- Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS.
Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health.
Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).
Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication.
But still pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has the necessary Authority code.

- This product is a Pharmacist Only Medicine and requires pharmacist advice before we can dispatch this product. You must first place the order and then contact our pharmacists within 48 hours on 1300 367 283.
The pharmacist will determine if this product is appropriate for you and if so, approve the order. In the event that you do not do this, the product will be deleted from your order and the balance of your order will be dispatched.
This is not required if you have a doctor's prescription.

How to remove a tick correctly:
1. Position the opening of the applicator 1cm above the tick. Hold the aerosol dispenser as vertical as possible.
2. Release the cryoliquid pressing 3 times 1cm above the tick.
3. If the tick still moves after 10 minutes, repeat the process.
4. The tick should fall out after freezing, or lightly dust the tick off the skin once freezing is complete.
What are ticks?
Ticks are parasites that feed on animal and human blood. There are many types of tick species in Australia, though the most common species that attacks humans is the paralysis tick, Ixodes holocyclus.

ticks found?
Ticks occur in humid, moist bush areas and rely of passing animals to feed on and to transport them
Symptoms of tick bites
The symptoms of a tick bite is usually minor local itching and swelling at the bite site. These symptoms disappear once you remove the tick. Some symptoms of the tick paralysis also include: a rash, headache, fever and
flu-like symptoms. Extreme reactions can include tick anaphylaxis (an allergic reaction) and meat allergy.
What to do if you get bitten?
The most important thing to do is to ensure that the tick is not disturbed, scratched or squeezed and is removed correctly to prevent allergic reactions.
Avoid using household tweezers. Use Medi Freeze Tick Off to freeze and kill the tick.

Medi Freeze Tick Off is NOT to be used for the following:
- Use on ticks around the eyes and face
- Ticks on face, chest, neck, breast or buttocks
- When there is or has been a confirmed diagnosis of skin cancer and treatment for skin cancer.(Including melanoma, sclerosing basal cell carcinoma or other skin anomalies such as keratoses which could be precursors of skin cancer)
- Heavily pigmented skin / dark pigmented skin
- Irritated, infected or sensitive skin
- When there is sensitisation or allergy to extreme cold (cold type urticaria)
- Diabetics and persons with circulatory problems, including Raynaud’s'
- Patients treated with immunosuppressive treatments / confirmed diagnosis for autoimmune or collagen diseases
- Patients on anticoagulation medication and haemophilia patients
- HIV infected patients
- On children under 4 years of age
- Extremely flammable aerosol. Pressurised container: May burst if heated.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not breathe spray.
- Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.
- Do not pierce or burn, even after use.
- Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source.
- Protect from sunlight. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50C/122F.
- Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local regulations.

No Worry Peace of Mind Tick Removal
I heard about the product from a friend and kept it in stock in case my husband or I had a tick as we regularly visit an area where there are paralysis ticks. Sure enough my husband came home with a tiny tick that because it was so small I wouldn’t have been able to “tweeze” it out. So I resorted to using the Medi Freeze Tick off spray and followed the use instructions ( which were easy to follow). I directed the spray on the tick and minutes later it was able to be removed easily.
